On-Site X-Ray Services at AFC Urgent Care
We provide on-site digital X-ray services for bones, joints, and chest imaging. During your urgent care X-ray visit, a provider will examine you, take your images, and review the results with you, so you can get clear answers and a treatment plan all in one place.
While we handle most common injuries, we don't perform MRI or CT scans. If more advanced imaging such as a CT scan or MRI is recommended, we'll tell you during your visit and recommend follow-up with a specialist.

Not every injury needs an emergency room. If you're deciding where to go, here's how the two compare, and when the ER is the right call.

Go to the emergency room if:
- Bone is visible through the skin, or a limb appears bent, or out of shape
- Uncontrolled bleeding
- You have a head injury and are taking blood thinners, or the injury is associated with confusion, persistent amnesia, vomiting, loss of consciousness, seizure, or severe headache
- You have chest pain or trouble breathing
- The limb below the injury is numb, cold, or pale
If you notice any of these severe symptoms, go directly to the emergency room. Your health and safety come first, and we always want to make sure you get the exact level of care you need.

X-Ray Safety and Preparation
- Remove jewelry, watches, and anything metal near the injury
- Wear comfortable clothing without zippers or metal fastenings, if you have time to change
- Bring your photo ID and your insurance card
- Note how the injury happened and when
- Tell us if you are or might be pregnant
Imaging for Children
Digital X-ray uses a low dose of radiation, and we use the lowest setting that still produces a usable image. For children, we size the exposure to the child.
